How to Keep Your Branding Consistent on Your Athletic Social Media Accounts

Jack Zamore

Consistency has proven to be effective, as a report by LucidPress found that 70% of people think that consistent branding is crucial when communicating with existing followers. By maintaining a consistent brand (colors, logos, etc.), your online presence will see some major improvements. A consistent brand will allow you to:

1. Craft a unique personality for your program and teams that your fans remember and are more inclined to follow.

2. Clearly differentiate from high schools in the area or ones that might be similar.

3. Create a memorable viewing experience for fans that will cause them to be more interested in coming back!

If you keep branding consistent, your content will be easily recognizable. Certainly, having an attractive logo is an important part of this but color also plays a major role.

When looking through various high school athletic department social feeds, I often find that content is posted with little regard for keeping colors consistent. For example, I just recently came across a school that was posting often, but their main color of red was shown in several different shades depending on the post. This comes across as unprofessional and reflects poorly on the program. To ensure you remain consistent, utilize the same color code every single time you use a color. If your school has a brand book, use the color codes provided within those guidelines. If not, you can use an online color picker tool to find the specific color codes corresponding with the colors in your school logo (just upload the logo and then use the "eyedropper" tool).

Once you have these color codes, store them somewhere that you can easily access them. Luckily, on Gipper, you can save up to ten of your school colors to your account. That way, you can easily select the correct colors and create/share consistently branded content.
