Tim has used Gipper to create a collegiate experience for the students and build a distinct brand for the department. “Gipper has also helped us be more versatile with our social strategy. Because Gipper does all the heavy lifting, I can quickly change themes or change direction. This has enabled me to constantly create new looks for our teams to stay relevant and set us apart from other schools.” Tim is now able to celebrate the school, students, and coaches in a super professional and equitable way, and the larger community is updated in a timely and eye-catching manner.

Tampa Prep’s goals for social media are to highlight students and coaches, inform the community, and connect with various stakeholders. “The first primary goal with social media is to highlight our students and coaches. That is always first and foremost because everything we do has to be linked back to supporting the students. The next goal is making sure I get information out to the community - to meet them where they are and make it available for everyone. The last goal is to connect with all our different constituents. Whether it is current students, faculty, staff, prospective students, or alumni, it’s important that we make those connections to build and maintain relationships.”

The Challenges

Keeping Up With the New Trends Was Tedious

Before partnering with Gipper, Tim experienced frustration with the amount of time he was spending creating graphics. He found himself investing too much time and energy in exploring new template ideas and studying ever-changing social media platform dimensions. “Before Gipper, I was designing graphics myself, which was time-consuming in and of itself. Besides actually creating content, it was also time-consuming to research new design trends and format every graphic for different platforms. As a result, it was extremely difficult to get content published promptly.”

Tim is especially interested in taking Tampa Prep’s social media to the next level, and creating a collegiate experience for the students and for the community is of utmost importance. “Now, with Gipper, I can be more focused on being equitable with content so that every team gets highlighted and supported on social media. The time I am saving using Gipper has enabled me to dedicate more energy to sourcing high-quality assets and maintaining our social media strategy.” With Tim’s consistent Weekly Schedules, Athlete Awards, and GameDays, the students are more connected with the school and their peers - creating an increase in awareness and interest in Athletics.
